Blizzard has clarified that the announced changes to Renown in Diablo 4 Season 2 will also apply to Hardcore characters. This means Hardcore players will benefit from faster renown gains and persistent renown rewards across seasons. However, character progress will not transfer if a Hardcore character dies before the season ends.
